Chris Wright did an excellent job for us. He literally got out his bed one evening and showed us six homes and we actually chose one of them. We'll done!
Go somewhere else. Unless you want the used car buyers experience,buying a "New Home". Originally, Meritage was our choice. The sales and project manager were why we chose Meritage over others. Then we closed. Closing was on again off again. Construction during 2021 was tough for all. Then suddenly closing had to happen when Meritage dictated. Do not buy from this builder! I made the mistake twice buying two houses from these guys—don’t make the same one. It started off well last year, but things have gone downhill. We purchased a home in the Chestnut Grove subdivision, and the builder used a terrible plumber, which led to a major leak inside a second-floor wall—thankfully, the warranty covered that. BUYER BEWARE! Document EVERYTHING for your foreseeable lawsuit if you purchase these! They deny warranty fixes or claim they were already taken care of, when they were not. We Loathe Meritage Homes!
Avoid this builder like your life depends on it. Very unprofessional and they are just throwing up houses everywhere throughout the upstate and other states as well. Key word is throwing up. We’ve had so many issues with our home that we brought in 2022, we actually had to get legal involved. They don’t honor repairs fully, even when it’s in a contract, they don’t value your time, and their customer service is fake nice and trash. Mike needs to be fired.
