The food was very good. The style is different with a creole flare, it's Art. Not too much, not too little it's just enough to balance the favor profile. A Top Chef dish.
Meril's food is overrated. The taste is average and some items like the gumbo, turkey necks, and broccoli can be improved upon. The gumbo lacked luster, turkey necks were very vinegar, and the broccoli was over saturated with thick General Tsao sauce. I expected way more and was under impressed.
The food was ok. Our server was awesome, tho.
Dismal For years I only visited Meril’s for their homemade ice cream. We had a party of 12 that they stuck in the back corner of the restaurant that should have only seated eight. The restaurant was half empty, so I they could have put several square tables together. Instead, we were placed by the back door of the kitchen. That should be the sign to walk out. I’ve had the opportunity to visit several times but this visit was a tad underwhelming. The servers were great but some of food was a tad undercooked.
