We had the worst experience at this branch when trying to get a mortgage rate. We had already been pre-approved by another institution and wanted to shop around for rates. Meridian seemed like a good spot since they are a credit union and are supposed to be better than the big banks. However, they are just as greedy and incompetent. Went in to close my chequing account because I didn’t want to do a fee, was asked if I wanted to do cash or cheque. I picked cheque and then without my knowledge was charged $10 even though the teller said nothing about a fee being required to get a cheque, while cash is free. I came in to close my account to avoid account fee’s and chose not to do an e-transfer to avoid the $1.50 fee, all of which I told the teller. Never met more incompetent staff anywhere else, this by far tops it! None of the staff know what they are doing or have any competency to give you appropriate information. They constantly waste your time by telling you they need to speak to a manager or going back and forth to the branch to sign forms they didn't advise you of in the first place. Bank elsewhere, you will save a whole lot more time!
