I saw Dr. Ian Corbett and he was terrible. I should preface that I am a medical provider myself so I’m familiar with how an adequate exam should look like. He was dismissive, patronizing, and he blatantly gaslit me. I’m disappointed in the lack of appropriate care I received by him. I do not recommend him at all.
I had an appointment today to establish new care with Dr. Ian Corbett, and it was fabulous from start to finish! I arrived about 40 minutes early because I’d forgotten my new patient forms, so I filled them out in the lobby. To my surprise, they actually pulled me in about 30 minutes early! The woman who took my weight and general information etc. was friendly and kind, with absolutely no judgment, I wish I could’ve caught her name but she was awesome, whoever she is! I have called the other number for customer service and nothing worked. Waited months to be seen which is normals. The care provider was nice but she didn't put in all referrals, she didn't put in correct information for referrals, she took months to put paperwork for referrals in. I'm dealing with a weird situation and it took my provider TWO months to put in a referral and then she worded it like I was making a big deal out of nothing. It's a joke. I've seen four specialists. After a musical chairs of doctors, I was eventually assigned to someone who SEEMED competent. Did not listen to what I was telling them during multiple visits about a medicine I had been prescribed. Several years spent reducing the dose, when I actually needed to be taken off it. How would you feel if the "treatment" actually was creating the horrible symptoms? Determining appropriate legal action currently...
I always get exactly what I need. Sure appts get pushed out sometimes. Maine has a provider shortage. So I feel a lot of the gripe they get is undeserved. I saw Annika Bannon for my physical this year and she guided me on a plan for my overall future health. I tend to let problems go, but she advocated for me more than I did myself.
