Went on a Wednesday night, arriving around 10pm. While we weren't taken back until 5am, I'm not complaining. EVERYONE working in the waiting room made sure we were taken care of -- even the security guards. We had warm blankets, they cleaned up my mom's injury, they got us a wheelchair, they cleaned all of the waiting room chairs and checked on my mom frequently. Been in mercy hospital’s ER three times this week with 20 something daughter with cardiac issues. The first visit was over 8 hours and the ER Doc said she had pneumonia and sent us on our way with antibiotics. Her PCP and cardiologist said no way and they sent us to mercy er for an echocardiogram. That visit was also 8 hours and the dr. said an echocardiogram wasn’t necessary. Absolutely useless. I had to take my girlfriend to the emergency room after taking her to immediate care and being sent there. I called her primary care doctor and was told she could not be treated as an outpatient. We spent 7+ hours in the emergency room without even being seen. Absolutely unacceptable!!! They should be ashamed. Update- I've filed a complaint with the NYS health department. I understand nothing will probably be done. I encourage people to file a complaint with NYS health dept. If I could give this ER a zero I would. I’ve been here since 10:30 Am. Sat in the outer waiting room for 4 hours with a dislocated hip. Was takenback for xrays. Was left in a hokding room for an hour with no assistance. Then taken back to the ER waiting room. Thwm placed in a bed in the hallway for another hour. Still sitting here. Haven’t seen a doctor. No xray results. No idea how much longer this will be. If I could walk I would leave but I am stuck. Horrible place. Clearly understaffed.
