I visited Insight Hospital’s Emergency Department (2509 S. Michigan Ave, Chicago) on October 31, 2025, for severe abdominal pain, nausea, and constipation. This was my third visit that week. During my earlier visits, Dr. Hurkes provided compassionate and effective care. However, this last visit was completely different. I had to be rushed to the emergency room for a suicide attempt and an extremely rude elderly black woman was doing my intake.
Went in for kidney stones and was in immense pain. Was asked where to send my prescriptions, gave them the address, and they sent them to a pharmacy 30 mins away. Called to have them resend it and was denied because the dr who saw me wasn't there. Checked my rx and the person who wrote it, never actually saw me. So because of their mistake, I either have to suffer in pain or go back to the er in person to try and get it rewritten. I have no car to get there or the pharmacy.
