I just returned from a necessary visit to Mercy emergency department where I was greeted by two efficient, welcoming women. Although all the rooms were taken, they gathered my data and assured me that a physicians assistant would be in shortly. A Tyree soon came in smiling and began to address my concerns. My husband and I were very satisfied with his thoroughness, background information, and the clarity with which he addressed us. He was even humble enough to get a second opinion about his diagnosis. With my wife in ER and went to nurse station to ask a question for her and the nurse proceeded to treat me like a child and shooed me away and snapped and told me to get back into my room it wasn’t important enough for me to be bothering her!
Absolutely disgusting experience, as I am sitting with my child I notice blood and feces on the patient bed. I pointed it out to the nurse and she even admitted how unacceptable this was. As someone who works in health care myself I am appalled at this dangerous situation.
They will not care about you. Only want to bill your insurance and you for nothing! Was there for a knee swollen, painfully and bleeding internally. They sent me away with an antibiotic an no answers. My leg is turning black. Pain is unimaginable. They tell me the will not talk to me again unless I come back which means thousands More which I can't do. If this kills me they did it. murdered me. If you have a problem go elsewhere.
Horrible care, belligerent staff. Tried to leave after waiting for 2 hours for an ambulance that would be there “any minute”, and had a staff member step in front of me to block the entrance and tell me he would call DFS if I left without signing a release. Apparently the criteria to call DFS is refusing to release Mercy from liability. As I’ve come to expect at Mercy, legal coverage comes first, patient care comes absolutely last.
