I waited in the ER and watched people who don’t look like me fake cry and scream so they could be seen and were taken back even if it wasn’t necessary. I watched those same people laughing and joking with their family prior to the theatrics. I left because if that’s the level of care I would receive, I’d rather suffer at home.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Mercy ER. I came in with a head and spine injury, but I never felt like my condition was taken seriously. While waiting, I passed out in the waiting room. My daughter informed the staff twice that I had lost consciousness, yet no one came to evaluate me or check on me.
