I've been here 3 times, is that enough to accurately rate a place? I like the food. It's legitimately good. The tricky part at Mercato is getting somebody to take your order. And then you have to hope your order does this crazy thing where it gets sent to the kitchen, made, and then brought to your table. I cannot stress this enough, the poor service here is because ownership doesn't staff appropriately. Hire more people, or quit jamming too many people into too small of a space. Either one works.
I really enjoyed the coziness of this restaurant and overall vibe. The waiter was very friendly and the food was very tasty. We started off the grilled calamari which was really good, could have used slightly more time on the grill, but the beans were really yummy. The pizza we had the prosciutto burrata and honey was one of the best pizzas I had, just loved the combo of salty and sweet from the honey. My mother and I went here for lunch and the menu seemed very promising and I normally go around restaurants to do TikTok reviews. I’m very sad to say that the food was extremely tasteless and bland we were both extremely disappointed with the food so much so that we did not even touch our plate. First time here, and to the area but scallop special I had was massacre of a mess. Scallops (6 small) seared only on one side, the foot still on the scallop (those who know, know) smothered in Cajun seasoned. We r not talking a little- we are talking the whole 12 oz canister of red fish blackening seasoning on them. Risotto over took the whole plate, bland at best. This past Friday evening, we held a very special, very last-minute, small private family wedding dinner for my daughter in the wine cellar at Mercato.
