Tried to visit on July 7th and the place was closed, even though Google Maps listed it as open. I’m from out of town and had planned a lunch date here, so it was disappointing to show up and find the doors shut we had to change our plans last minute. Hopefully they’ll update their hours going forward so others don’t run into the same issue.
We have been going to Mercasa for a few years now and have always loved their food. When it came time to plan our wedding we knew we wanted them to cater. Tom was great to work with, provided options that were clear to understand and the team the day of our wedding was great. Tom made it clear at the beginning that he would be there the day of the wedding to oversee everything and it would not be a team or person we hadn’t worked with. I’ve spoken very highly of this place to my family because the food is truly phenomenal. Unfortunately, when we arrived yesterday, we found out they were closed for a private event. I completely understand that private bookings are part of running a successful business, and I have no issue with that. The only reason for my review is that I wish the interaction at the door had been handled a bit more warmly. They have excellent quality food, the staff are always helpful and friendly!
The place is big and has an echo. Food is good. A little greasy. Italian drinks are good, just pricy. Better than most pizza places in brantford.
