Gave birth 6 months ago and never got round to writing a review until now. I can’t fault my experience at Mendip/Southmead. I had 2 midwives (1 being a student) and they were exceptional, always by my side. I went in at around 9 and they stayed with me until their shift ended at 7am. Took no breaks. They realised babies heart rate was dropping so intervened very quickly and took me to CDS. Afterwards we had a lovely room where my partner was able to stay and rest with me after birth. This review is specifically about the central delivery suite side of Mendip. The quality of care during and shortly after birth is actually quite good, just pray to any deity that you believe in you don't have any issues that require any level of aftercare. Wait times of 6hrs to be seen appear to be the norm, even when they have asked you to come in for a checkup. £4 per (poor quality) picture of my baby plus ridiculous parking fees. Works out cheaper going for a private scan.
