Bought a refrigerator online and figured I’d take advantage of the delivery service instead of renting a trailer or hauling it home in the back of my pickup. I paid around $200 for delivery because I expected it to be transported and handled properly. The delivery driver called when he was almost to my house to ask if his semi could get into my neighborhood. During the conversation, he casually—and almost proudly—told me they had transported my refrigerator laying on its side because, apparently, tie downs weren’t an option.... read more
