I never seen any entity have only had reviews and accounts of an experience far worse than any living nightmare. It's said you can't completion about free services while I can inquire as to the corruption of a service that gets funding from the state from the tax payers for services they do not provide. This place is a joke. My attorney ghosted me for 6 months bc I couldn’t afford 300$ for a mediation that was a waste of time due to a no contact order and when I finally heard from her it was to drop me as a client and I asked her in front of the judge if she would mail my file since I now have to represent myself against my ex husband who beat my child when he was 5 and she never mailed it. If you have another option don’t choose this place.

Applied for services on September 24 after a major surgery and am honestly glad I rushed my recovery and got 2 jobs to pay a lawyer thousands out of pocket. Walter Casey called me on October 29th. 2 days before my court date. Over that month I fought tooth and nail to find representation on my own gladly because MALS is useless. I was told by Casey that there is no way they can take my case since court is in 2 days and they failed to contact before then.

The agency has been defunded because of incompetence. Contact West Tennessee Legal Services, as federal funds to help people in need in Memphis, Tennessee has been redirected to an agency that delivers and MALS can no longer collect millions for free, while they go nothing for those in need.
