While my family and I are still in the process of awaiting a treatment plan, I have to commend all of the staff for warmth and kindness they have extended on every single visit both to myself as a family member as well as especially the patient! From security, to the receptionists, nurses, students and physicians. Their overall attitude is just very positive and this is so important during such a difficult time.
My wife was referred to msk in Uniondale for peritoneal cancer. Oncologist she was seeing wanted her to do chemo again. She did not want to do the chemo again she wanted to have surgery to have the tumor removed. So that oncologist referred her to msk in Uniondale where she saw a different oncologist who also recommended chemo but understood my wife did not want to do the chemo and would rather do the surgery to have it removed. Had a poor experience with the radiology division. Took 8 days to post report and the patient experience in the department was poor. Dr Maki is the absolute best but would get the MRI elsewhere
I would avoid this place. Its got a nice pretty veneer, great reputation and occasionally you'll be escorted to your treatment by a patient representative that looks like a supermodel. But my family and I had nothing but frustration dealing with the processes they use. Maybe their construction is finally done for the new section. If you have ANY problems with treatment, or health issues related to pretty much ANYTHING, they cant help you here.
