We are from out of town and my wife was passing through Orillia today and stopped at Costco. When she returned to the car it would not start. I had CAA tow the vehicle to Memorial Auto Services, as my mom used to have her vehicle serviced there and a couple of years ago when I was in town, I had them install a new alternator in my vehicle. Haven't had work done here, but whoever I spoke to over the phone was super helpful which is hard to come by these days. I called 3 dodge dealers looking for a flex pipe. None of the dealers were able to tell me what part I needed, but were happy to sell me an entire exhaust system instead of the $25 part. Memorial knew the part within minutes and were happy to provide details even though my vehicle isn't booked for service there. Thanks for your help and saving my headache!!
What made my experience more upsetting was the unprofessional treatment I received. One staff member, made dismissive and hurtful remarks, claiming they were doing me a favor by accepting my car and saying they “don’t like taking cars from guys like me” and that they “didn’t need me.” As a paying customer, this was insulting and felt racially discriminatory. I went in for an oil change and left extremely disappointed. Previously, I brought OW20 oil and a swap was accepted. This time, I was told I couldn’t, so I went out and got 5W20 myself (cheaper than theirs). The service was done, but I was charged nearly double what I paid less than two months ago, with the explanation that the new owner had raised prices.
