I eat Meltwich regularly at a different location. Today I came to the Wellington location and ordered the Philly steak for my friend and I. We both took one bite and it tasted weird like it’s rotten or not cooked properly. I went back to the cash and politely told her it has a funny taste but she said I can’t do anything about it if every customer is not happy with their food we will not be making money. The only saving grace here was the 80s music being played. The food was incredibly overpriced, nearly 30 dollars for a small amount of chicken and poutine, both incredibly mediocre. At least it’s open late though
The meltwich is a perfectly passable place to have a heavy, greasy lunch. I had the southwest chicken melt with a pop and tater tots. The sandwich was largely bland and inoffensive and the tater tots were okay. I had to ask for a fork to eat with as the dispensers were empty. The restaurant was not very clean and the atmosphere is pretty dire, with a screen showing YouTube “extreme” stunts. I paid more than $18 without tip for the meal, so I would say the value is okay at best.
