I have been going to see Jose and Mel at Mel’s Old City Barber Shop for over 5 years now. They are the absolute best and make you feel right at home as a true barber shop should. Before going there I was never truly happy with my haircuts, Jose has perfected it and really made me proud of my hair as both him and Mel are so great at what they do. Would highly recommend everyone to check them out!

Before I found Lisa at Mel’s Old City Barbershop in Sarasota my hair looked like crap, my girl thought I was ugly, and I had no confidence. Now my hair looks smooth, I can’t keep my girl off of me, and I walk with my chest out. If you don’t get your hair cut at Mel’s, you are making a big mistake. Thanks Mel and team! You guys are awesome!
Went here based on a post to my wife’s Russian Facebook group. Nothing Russian about this place, but it didn’t matter. Jose took care of me and gave me the best cut I’ve had in years. I was going to stay in tonight, but I can’t. It’s too damn good!! Awesome place, felt like home after being there for 5 minutes.
