Took my van here for CV axle replacement and started having issues again within a day. Returned the vehicle and was told by Mel it would be ready next day. 2 weeks later I picked it up and took it to NTB in Galveston becausehe never touched it. Was informed by NTB mechanic that CV axles were not new and likely junk yard parts. Also all of the bolts were rounded off. This repair will cost double now. Would not recommend this place if you care about your vehicle.

Being from out of town, and he was the only public mechanic available on Crystal Beach.. he not only fit me in on a Friday, he replaced my clogged fuel filter, and charged barely enough to cover basic cost, so I tipped on top of charge. Unfortunately, I later found out it was my fuel pump going out and that was cause for dirty filter.. but, this shop helped in a pinch!
He’s fixed our vehicles on multiple occasions!
I found Mel to be very honest and got my car out with a full brake job in no time - I will be using him for all my mechanical repairs from now on.
