Not as good as other locations – Service wasn't great. Definitely not one of the best Mellow Mushrooms.
Good pizza, good staff – I enjoyed my pizza here. Sat at the bar and had a fun time with the bartender. Good value. Not too expensive.
Copy Is A Copy – I actually worked at Mellow Mushroom in my college days for a brief period of time. Back in the day the pizza was a little more mellow than it is today. The pizza is good here but the atmosphere is lacking. It is located in a strip mall after all. The kids running the place are all good natured and the rest of the menu is right on par with the good Mellow Mushroom reputation. Don't worry, the pizza isn't mellow anymore. Those days are gone forever.
Lived up to the reputation – I have never dined with Mellow Mushroom, but we just took out for the first time and I have to say I was pleasantly surpised! The pizza was great even after a 20 minute ride in the car, not soggy like many others we have ordered. The flavor and toppings were very fresh and not over cooked. We will certainally be ordering again soon!
Mello Mush is so-so – I cannot believe that the people in Atlanta think Mellow Mushroom makes the best tasting pizza in the city. Boy do I miss Tomasellis in Smyrna! Now that was real pizza! Peppinos in Athens beats out all of the ATL by far. Fellinis is better than Mellos too. Mellos crust is too grainy, dry, and has that cardboard finish. Even Dijorno makes a better crust! Rays in Atanta was good but has slacked off. It is just hard to find a great pizza place in Atlanta since Tomasellis closed down.
Best Pizza – The best pizza place in Atlanta is Grant Central Pizza. You have to venture into East Atlanta, instead of picking all the lame "foo-foo" places in the touristy spots. Come on, if you want to locate the best places to eat, you can't just do surveys...send someone out. I bet if you did a survey on the best coffee, you'd get a ton of Starbucks, but everyone knows they suck.
Tasty pies come with a side of '70s nostalgia at these spruced-up college town pizzerias. – The Scene With satellite locations in big-time university towns like Chapel Hill and Athens, this popular Atlanta chain knows what makes a college pizzeria. Newer strip mall locations aside, staple fixtures include good music, servers in Jane's Addiction T-shirts and combat boots, funky painted cinder blocks and bumper sticker-covered beer coolers. Visit the Druid Hills location for the patio. The Food A product of the '70s, this reli... read more
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! – This is honestly the BEST pizza i've had. WOW, if i had a car that ran, it'd almost be worth driving all day to get to Georgia for some more of that pizza......The atmosphere and decorating is a bit......unusual, and it took a loooong time for the 6 of us to get our food, and they also got confused and tried to combine our ticket withthe table behind us. So we had to sort out who's bill was who's. But overall, it was a good value, and the food itself was EXCELLENT. Well worth the wait.
