I’ve been training at Melendez Boxing as a beginner, and I’ve really enjoyed my experience so far. Miguel is a great coach because he meets you where you’re at. He takes the time to explain things in a way that’s easy to understand and makes sure you’re learning proper technique instead of just throwing you into workouts. I've boxed at a few other gyms prior to Melendez but quickly fell into a slump because many boxing gyms focus on conditioning rather than technical work. I've been coming here for over a year and Miguel, is truly a fantastic coach. Usually, his sessions start off with jump roping. Then, shadow boxing following with a mix of bag and partner mitt work. This was my first time trying boxing, and it honestly exceeded all my expectations. Miguel is such an incredible instructor, he’s not only super knowledgeable, but also incredibly patient, encouraging, and genuinely caring. He made me feel comfortable right away, took the time to explain everything clearly, and never made me feel rushed or out of place.
