Went on the evening tour and got a combination of history and star gazing. Very interesting and enjoyable if you are into astronomy in any way. You need to book well ahead so it is a bit of a gamble as to if you get a clear night.
It was late in the day so we just walked around outside.i remember years ago going to.Astronomy nights on last thursday of the month...some was technical but was enjoyable and informative...unsure if they sre still doing it. .it was first built in 1863 but has been decommissioned for some time.It is a short walk from the Shrine.will add to the review later stage...will be revisiting sometime soon.There is a visitor information centre.also one can enjoy snacks outdoor/indoor qhikst enjoying the area
