My experience with Melbourne Mental Health was extremely frustrating. I initially reached out back in January 2025 with a referral from my GP. There was no mention that my open referral was unacceptable, nor any communication from them at all. It wasn’t until I followed up today in July 2025 that I learned my referral was completely ignored. Dr Chau is the GOAT when it comes to mental health care treatment. A thorough and compassionate professional in all my years of being a patient. A great practice. Big praise too for Marco Keogh.

I phoned the clinic as I had not received my script from the previous appointment and my medication had ran out. I was advised they would email the Doctor and if I didn't hear back in a weeks time to call back the clinic. When asked politely if they could phone the Doctor as this is urgent and cannot be left for a week, I was advised they do not keep phone numbers for Doctors and therefore this was not possible, which quite simply cannot be true. For a better alternative I recommend strongly Dr Carlin Saldana. She only takes a month to process referrals. And the Gertrude Clinic Staff is friendly and excellent. Melbourne Mental Health is a scam. I hope the practice strongly takes action and reflects on this incident taking care of their staff but also especially the patients in such a sensitive context.
