Melbourne city baths is an underwhelming facility. Visiting from interstate it was the only public pool I could locate. The change rooms were old and in need of updating. The pool was cloudy and very full. Was quite hard to actually get some decent laps in. The overall building has a lovely historical feel but the internal structure is old and borderline dilapidated.
Good value for money for kids swimming class and membership. Desk staff are helpful and we're very happy with the swim school too. They understand our kids' needs and communicate well. It'd be great if there was a swim club for kids as a development pathway.
I recently stopped by while visiting Melbourne. A casual pool visit cost $8.20 and included locker hire, and I also got to use the hot tub. The pool lanes were divided equally so there was room for everyone - slow and fast swimmers, kids getting lessons, and a play lane. Clean venue, great value for money, centrally located, and a relaxing way to finish your day.
