In the fall of 2023 I lost my best friend of 68 years, my brother’s cancer returned and he moved back east, my wife was being treated for cancer, and as silly as it sounds my two dogs died. Melanie's breadth as a counsellor ranges from lived personal experience to a strong educational background. She is able to skilfully bring the two together in her sessions. Melanie challenges and affirms, she asks me to step up to who I am and who I could be. I highly recommend Melanie if you want to do the WORK and take your therapy seriously. Mel cares deeply as a therapist and I'm so grateful to have connected with her.
Dec, 25th : Ammending my review from a more healed place... I feel quite disappointed that Melanie didn't have the empathy to even try to see things from my perspective then & now. I felt truly hurt by her unfulfilled promises and especially her caustic and unforgiving tone in the way she chose to set boundaries. Melanie is a really kind and qualified therapist. I felt held and supported. She extended herself by offering support during off hour which was very generous of her. I look forward to more session. Being queer and brown is difficult. What I love about Melanie is that she’s very well informed about south Asian culture and religions which made my experience with her even more beneficial.
