Short story: Don’t waste your time and money with this podiatrist (or any traditional podiatrist for that matter) Look for a functional podiatrist instead. Long story: I saw Dr. Dayrit in January 2024 because of persistent pain in my left big toe. Dr. Dayrit failed to give me the care I deserve. I have had glass in my foot for more than a year now, and Dr. Dayrit told me multiple times that she could not remove the glass from my foot, as it was too deep and close to the bone. She also recommended against surgery as she was concerned that she would not be able to locate the glass, in addition to the possibility of nerve damage as a possible complication of surgery. Melanie Dayrit DPM mutilated my foot, removed too much of the bone during a bunionectomy which left me with extreme hallux varus and was dishonest about it, blaming me for being too active post operatively. Dr. Dayrit then did a "repair" which further mutilated my foot and missed a painful neuroma in the affected foot. I didn't learn that she had removed too much of the metatarsophalangeal joint in the original surgery until I went to an orthopedist who did a tensioned suture device repair.
