Mel Modern has been a family business since it was established in 1934. Joseph Bartini started doing work in Great Neck and Manhasset in 1936 servicing mostly commercial refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. In 1938, Joseph established his business as Modern Refrigeration moved it to 158 Main Street in Port Washington. Donald is great and very responsive. I have used him for a few years now, and am very satisfied with his service!
Donald came the same day to service our AC system during a heatwave. He arrived promptly in the time frame he estimated, diagnosed the issue and fixed it all under an hour. He was very professional, friendly, and his service was reasonably priced. I would highly recommend Donald to anyone and already saved his number for any future services we need.
Donald is knowledgeable and helpful. He even responds to calls about our AC when he’s on a vacation that has a 6 hour time difference. I rarely post, but he’s so awesome I felt compelled to sing his praises.
I have Never been more disgusted by a person answering a call in my life. He asked what was wrong I said The unit on the wall he said do not be rude. I said I’m not a mechanic I wasnt being rude. He then proceeded to yell at me. Please I’ll take my business elsewhere your attitude was disgusting
Very professional and trustworthy. I have used them for about ten years now for multiple things. They installed a whole-house steam humidifier system and it's great. I have also used them for heating and AC repair and maintenance.
