I had a large lipoma on my left flank that my dermatologist said I needed a surgeon to remove and was referred to Dr. Mejia. I had the surgery which required anesthesia and was left with a large scar. Afterwards I felt a nodule that didn’t seem to be removed. I followed up at my 6 week appt and the Mass was still there but I was told it could be swelling. This swelling has not gone away. I went to my first appointment in so much pain, and Dr. Mejia performed surgery on me the very next day! Everything went perfectly and I'm so grateful. He is truly skillful and caring.
Dr. Mejia is one of the best and most caring surgeons I have ever met. He was extremely concerned about my constant diverticulitis flares which caused me to run high fevers and of the possibility of sepsis as a result of these attacks. He was very patient in answering questions and explaining what the various outcomes could be as a result of surgery versus non-surgery and he never seemed to be in a hurry to leave. He was never arrogant when talking with me and my husband. He’s the BEST!
Dr. Mejia is an excellent doctor. I had the pleasure to have my gallbladder removed by him, and two days later I was in church like nothing. I took my 20 year old son to be evaluated and I find him to very knowleadgeble in every aspect of medicine. He listens to the patient and comes up with an agreed plan. He is super polite and caring.
He is a excellent surgeon but he definitely also has compassion and a caring personality. I highly recommended him if you need surgery
He quite literally saved my life - against all odds.
