Dr. Meratee has 2 locations: Valencia and Northridge. He is only at the Valencia office 2 days and always has his PA step in for him. It's hard to obtain an appointment with him if you are an existing patient and experiencing severe pain - YOU ARE GIVEN SAMPLES. When you call to advise it's affecting your mobility, you are told that you need an appointment and you have to wait 1-2 months. They have a policy that if you don't respond to the confirmation call they cancel your appointment but they don't bother to inform you that they did. I didn't get the confirmation message, if they left one so I drove all that way for nothing. They shouldn't penalize patients who show up for something other people do (I assume not showing up). I hate this "policy".
The office was on top of my appointments. The doctor was knowledgeable. Super communication. Answered all my questions thoroughly. I am glad the VA hospital sent me to him for my migraines. I am migraine free.
Poor follow through; lack of communication; terrible about returning phone calls (even if he called you first)
His staff is amazing and he is knowledgeable and open to Hearing your opinions and preferences. After 4 years of not knowing what my illness was, he diagnosed me with MS after one appointment. Sent me in for MRIs which I had been asking my previous Neuro to do, and he kept saying no it was a pinched nerve in my back. He continues to be a trusted doctor for me. Only issue is he’s slow to fill out necessary forms and he often runs behind schedule so you’re waiting past your appt.
Dr Meratee himself is good, but his office staff is incompetent and rude! He will lose my business because of them. Took them weeks to figure out how to get a simple MRI authorized!!! And we have PPO. Should have been simple!
After years and years of suffering with chronic migraines Dr. Meratee has been able to help me find relief. He is open to alternative ideas and not just pumping me full of medications. I would highly highly recommend him. The only negative is his office staff. I don't think they are friendly or helpful which is too bad. A great doctor should have a great front office.
