My issue is not with the doctor. It has been a month since my colonoscopy and I still don’t have the results. I have been told twice in response to my call that I would get a call back within 48 hours and received nothing. Reaching out through the portal also didn’t achieve report receipt. Waiting over a month for results seems excessive.
I love Dr Walker. But as soon as you walk out that door, good luck trying to get anything done until your next session. Need to get a hold of the nurse about something? Forget it. They don;'t like making calls and want you to get on "THE PORTAL" Even then, it's snails pace. It makes you feel like being in prison. You must wait for anything and they will get back to you whenever they have time even if it's a prescription refill. I did have one call me after 3 days and I missed the call. Dr. Walker is a an amazing thorough Gastroenterologist. A few years ago I had serious stomach ulcers and through her discovery & subsequent care, they were cured. I now have other GI issues and I drive an hour and a half just to have her doctor me. I have the utmost confidence in her professional knowledge and thorough care. I understand the poor review which was posted on Google. However, the review should have been about IU Health's poor communication and administration system, not Dr Walker.
Dr Walker was pleasant & thorough. However, her office staff/ front desk staff are horrid. My husband had a colonoscopy/ upper endoscopy preformed & 5 biopsies taken. He was quite nervous as his father died from colon cancer at age 53. Dr Walker said results from lab would be 1-2 weeks. After 2 full weeks with no call he called her office in the morning, the girl who answered said she would send a message to the Dr's nurse/ assistant. That was a Wednesday.
