Amazing people, great compassion and love there
Just an awful experience at MedVet Chicago. We brought our greyhound here in the middle of the night after she had a stroke. Having just come from VEG (with kind and compassionate doctors), every person we interfaced with here had zero bedside manner and no empathy. The night ER doctor said he was too busy with paperwork to answer any of our questions. We were told we needed to leave our girl for the rest of the night and return the next day. Took my dog in for blood in urine explaining he was on carprofen for a week and one of the side effects was just that. They insisted it was safe and was most likely an infection, they took some test I received some antibiotics was told to continue with the carprofen. I stop it, and guess what no more bleeding, his test results came back negative 4 days later and was told at that time it was possibly the carprofen which they had previously insisted to keep giving and to stop the antibiotics. MedVet has been a great resource to have for us. I have taken my dog there multiple times and recently they took a stray cat that I found who needed help. I called many vets who refused to help the cat (even when i assured them that i would pay and take the cat afterwards). They were the only vet that wanted to help. Very nice, knowledgeable and caring staff.
I went there for an emergency visit for my cat. Unfortunately the first staff i spoke to (who took my cats vitals) was extremely rude, rushed, and did not treat me with kindness. I had to constantly keep on calling them every 3 hours to get updates on my cat because they would forget to give me a call regarding her ultrasound results, the doctor would be unavailable and they would forget to send me the treatment plans.
