I am writing this review on behalf of my elderly parents. My parents have contacted customer service 4 times in the last 6 weeks for no cable or internet service. The technicians have responded but it took over 4 days before they could respond. Each time they left without verifying everything worked correctly. Substandard work! The actual issue each time was never addressed, that being the cable line coming from the junction box at the street to the house needs replaced. I wish 0 stars was an option. I was told true fiber-to-the-home internet was being installed, but they sent me a cable modem instead. Since I know the difference, I called support and was reassured multiple times that true fiber service was being installed and that the technician would have the correct equipment on the truck. The next day, the technician showed up and told me he doesn’t even know how to install fiber-to-the-home service. At that point, I canceled immediately. I’ve been with Mediacom for several years now, and I’m genuinely impressed with how much things have improved. The internet service is noticeably faster and more reliable than it used to be — streaming, gaming, and working from home all run smoothly with minimal issues. It’s a big upgrade from where they were before. Even better, they’ve lowered prices while giving better performance. That combination is rare these days, and it makes a real difference. We have had this company for a few years used to be awesome but now speeds seem slower and slower also there’s SO MANY outages and the credit they offer for sometimes multiple outages a week is like a slap in the face… price keeps going up service is going down…
