Their outsourced customer service is the only good thing about them aside from their speeds, and the speeds/consistency of their service is only recent. I cancelled my service and had a contractor call me at 7pm on a Friday, and then came to my house at almost 9pm the same day - named Brian - to drop off a slip saying "Sorry we missed you!" and indicating I need to contact him to avoid interruption of my service, who went off on me when I called him to ask if that was a standard practice. So mediacom uses subcontractors for their "upgrades" and for the past 3 days theyve had this company CCI from Michigan to do their work here in columbia. What that means for my home is service interruption for hours and days on end while simultaneously having people literally parking in my front yard, at the bottom of my driveway preventing access, in front of my mailbox preventing delivery, in front of the stop sign, endangering people, and if you are wondering - on days 1 and 3 I tried directly talking to the workers, day ... read more
I am changing internet providers, because mediacom como absolutely sucks. The internet goes out randomly. I was home alone the other day trying to watch a game and it couldn't keep up. I disconnected my phone, everything. The only thing using Wi-Fi was my computer and it was still buffering every 5 minutes. They have been raising the prices and dropping the quality for a long time. I have been using mediacom for almost 10 yrs. It used to be an affordable, reliable service. That has significantly changed. Not for the better. ... read more
