Very poor experience with Medavie Blue Cross. I’ve been paying full premiums while my coverages remain inactive. The underwriting department has been extremely slow with disappointing service, and customer support gives no clear answers. It’s not fair to charge for benefits that don’t exist.

Update: Over 2 years since I started the process and I still don’t have life insurance. This company’s customer service is terrible. 9 months after first applying for wife’s life insurance and still no approval. They don’t respond, and the underwriters will only communicate through email. They never respond to this email address. I have sent 40 emails, and nothing.

If you can find another provider please do. Avoid this company at any and all costs. You will be advised on things that have zero impact on your claims, then once you spent 2 weeks on the phone clearing all the things you were told you need you get told that they need to take longer. Then when they flag your file as “Urgent” that means you’ll still wait the 5 days for any communication. As one of the many service providers to (and making money off) Canadian Veterans, prepare to be disappointed or at least keep your expectations, extremely low.
