This is the "Worst" company ever to deal with. I submitted claim and had to wait 3 weeks for a reply, only for them to deny it and have to resubmit claim which will probably take another 3 weeks. They have my money that was paid by my past employer and i keep getting the run around every time i submit claim. Will be done with this company when I am 65..
If you get a job in Canada and they say that they are with Medavie Blue cross…. Run. Just find another job with different benefits company. This insurance company is so problematic… whenever you go to a pharmacy to get a prescription they can never do it, there is always some problem. It’s definitely a good trick for people to just pay out of pocket and then “forget” about processing their claim. God forbid you need to do coordination of benefits… horrible with them. I miss my life when I had Sunlife insurance…
As a disabled veteran I can say this company is out to Delay! Deny! Watch us Die! They literally deny everything I apply for after hitting a 300+lbs IED in Afghanistan suffering a TBI which causes grand mal seizures. I have spent 17 years fighting both these 2 clowns medavie BLUECROSS and VAC, they say benefits aren’t covered yet a IV ketamine session cost 6500$ per session and they cover that! I’ve decided to quit this plan because I really get no benefit from it except for a semiprivate room, if I ever get admitted to a hospital. But seeing as how the province doesn’t have any space for one to have a room, I’ll likely end up in the hallway with all the other people on Medavie. I spend $100 a month just to have them tell me that a certain service is not eligible because they don’t think I should have it. Very poor experience with Medavie Blue Cross. I’ve been paying full premiums while my coverages remain inactive. The underwriting department has been extremely slow with disappointing service, and customer support gives no clear answers. It’s not fair to charge for benefits that don’t exist.
