My mum spent 6 weeks for respite care and I highly recommend mecware john atchison centre to anyone looking for the right place. This was my family's first time having a parent go into care and we felt at ease straight away. The staff are amazing they took great care of mum and mum was really, really happy being there. When it comes time we need respite again or a permanent arrangement my family have all agreed mecwacare is the place she will go.

This facility urgently needs improvements. The building itself is not well designed for the needs of elderly residents and visitors. There should be proper covered access for ambulances and vehicles. Currently, when people arrive or leave, they are exposed to the weather and often get wet getting out of the car, which is unacceptable for an aged care environment.
