Bought one of these mowers in 2018. I have had probably about one major issue every season with the machine since purchasing it. It was relatively easy to diagnose and fix with the manufacturers help, until they were purchased by Generac. Recently had an issue that I wasn't able to fix myself. It's been at the dealer for 5 months. Sounds like they are having extreme communication issues with Mean Green. Now they're quoting me 10 grand (CAD) for a new 7kwh battery. Every year my mean green mower breaks. It ALWAYS takes 6-8 weeks. Dealer says they are always waiting on the manufacturer for answers. These mowers are not worth the effort, and I'm a huge fan of all things electric. They are just defective and support is non existent.
Spindle motors use to be 210 dollars now they are 720. You will not even get return on investment from gasoline mowers. You can’t get parts online. You bring it to a dealership they just want to increase the parts used as much as possible and don’t diagnose the mower correctly. I use to work on these things myself, but since generac bought them they are huge liabilities.
Bought three mowers from them have had nothing but problems. The latest problem is with our stand on mower it has been in the shop for over two months now and they can’t get mean green to send them a wiring harness for one of the mowers. I first thought it was the dealer that was the problem but it’s not. It’s mean green.
My name is Erik Chase. I own a small all electric lawn care company now for 8 years. I've used mean green since day one. I still do. There is no comparison in my honest, educated, experienced, opinion. The staff, and product are simply the best. Thank you Mean Green!!!
