The ski slopes were still closed when we visited in October, but that's OK because we were in the mountains to take advantage of the Very Dark Skies to do some astronomy. I've observed from the Meadowlark Lake north parking area before but this time we scouted out the little road that goes past the ski lodge on the lake's south end. Perfect for our needs - and a pit toilet too! We had three gorgeously clear nights. Thanks ski lodge road!

Great Venue! Absolutely Beautiful! Food was delicious! BUT.....drink prices were so expensive, that half of our guests/friends left because they couldn't afford to drink at a wedding reception. $20 for a double whiskey and diet coke. $8 for a beer. One person working the bar for over 150 guests. They need more staff, need to loosen up on all of their "rules", and they need to come back to reality on their drink prices. We were genuinely excited to stay at this lake lodge, hoping for a memorable weekend with the kind of hospitality and amenities that typically come with such a setting. My Son and daughter in-law had their wedding reception here. They paid a lot of money for the food, yet the staff served up smallest portions I have ever seen, and if there was food left over wasn’t able to keep it when they paid for it. The bar drinks was served in small cups and charged $10 a drink with hardly any alcohol. Could not even taste the alcohol.. I have worked allot of wedding respirations and have never seen anyone charged the amount of money they were charged for hardly anything at all.

DO NOT have your wedding or events here. The owners are so greedy. Charge so much for shitty service. They overcharge on drinks,food, etc. it seems like they make it their goal to make your special trip as unpleasant as they can. If you want to have a stress free time with kind people, I would look elsewhere. We had a pretty patient group and most of us left very unpleased. Just straight up terrible people. Save yourself!!!
