I was here a few weeks ago as a voluntary inpatient. Was the worst 4 days of my life. The things I have seen and have heard are just horrid, this poor girl in there was treated with no respect when she had an episode it was heartbreaking . Recently use the haven at meadowfield hospital and I just wanted to say how amazing this service is. For someone like myself struggling with severe generalised anxiety, death anxiety and depression. I honestly thought there was no help out there for me until I went to a&e and the mental health team told me about this haven in Worthing. Most staff don’t give a damn about you the food is inedible so always have to buy takeout or starve for the day if you’re not particular patients they just leave you to have a meltdown by yourself or they use force and end up bruised from them
Great Mental Health Hospital
As a family member of a patient who saw Dr. Braithwaite, I am appalled by his dismissive and condescending approach. During a brief, consultation, he firmly insisted that she did not have depression or a mental health problem, despite these conditions being well-documented and long-standing diagnoses. His attitude was not only invalidating but also disrespectful, leaving my family member feeling completely dismissed.
