My husband has a rare, incurable cancer. We went to MD Anderson for a clinical trial since there was nothing that could be done close to home. (Idaho). We recieved excellent care! His dr was great! He was part of a clinical trial for a year. Then we and his dr decided it was time to try a different clinical trial as the first one wasn't working as well as hoped. While we were waiting to begin the new trial, my husband lost his job because his health was effecting his ability to get everything done. Along with his job we al... read more

Concern for new patients non existent. Twice initial consultation rescheduled. Second time they called a week prior to say doctor DIDN’T work the day they had scheduled for. Shouldn’t they have known this when they rescheduled since this doctor NEVER works that day of the week. Explained this was the second reschedule and was coming from out of town. Non-refundable Airline and hotel reservations and sitter for my five year old were already set. All they could say was “sorry” they and can reschedule the following week. How w... read more

Please don't go here, they will lie to you and kill your loved one. The statics on their fancy commercials is falsehood. They help the foreigners that pay cash, they get the successful medicine us Americans receive substandard care. Please listen to me...if you are waiting on blood and platelets and it takes longer than 4 hours for them to start your iv call the blood bank. I did that only to be told by the blood bank they h had delivered those blood products hours earlier. If you want your loved one to live get them awa... read more

We went for 2nd opinion for the patient’s condition on April, 2022. Why I choose MD. Anderson? After some research and feedback from different friends and others, I chose this one as the best one to seek 2nd opinion. However, I am totally dissatisfied and frustrated with the service and false charges for the patient’s treatment. When we booked the appointment, the patient’s condition was explained properly. They pulled the previous biopsy report as well with a good amount of charges. No issue there as they need to study bef... read more

Just learned today that the downtown facility is where all their surgeons and surgery facilities are. The outlying facilities only do basic tests and procedures. The IR team makes the call as to where the patient gets sent for testing with IR. The only consider what is convenient for them and are not concerned with the patient's comfort or options for traveling.

The are good at treating cancer and they have money and tools for research. Their people skills are non-existent. The Downtown Houston Location is a cattle call. Most of the nurses and techs seem to be learning on the job. I was sent there twice for surgeries and both time I felt like I was just herded around with a group of others and put in line. The last time I had a 3 hour surgery with deep anethesia and first thing I knew a nurse was yelling at me to wake up and get up. I guess they only allow 15 minutes to recover... read more

My dad is currently a patient at MD Anderson main. Their border and visitor policies have caused my family a lot of pain. My dad has been a patient here for over 12 days. My mom is staying with him in his hospital room. She was told that if she leaves, she cannot come back in for 7 days, due to "covid precautions." However, visitors can come and go every day, although only during visitor hours, which are 3-6pm. She cannot do that because the doctors only come to see him in the mornings, and she needs to be there for those ap... read more
