One of the Worst managed restaurants in the area. Employee mistakes, appeared to be girlfriend/boyfriend employee issues, drama around every corner, who is assigned to what section? Slow service both bar and food, Saturday late night 3/30/13. Very sad, I wish the owners could have witnessed this fiasco. Most of you would be let go.
Great food/Horrible service!!! If you are willing to risk the bad service you may be able to enjoy some great wine and food. If our waitress had been half apologetic about our table having been completely ignored for 45 minutes straight and dying just for a glass of water while others who came after us were served first or if she had apologized and fixed the receipt after we pointed that she charged us the regular menu price for an item on the happy hour menu during happy hour it would have helped so much! food was great--I got all I wanted and more
I have sworn off going to McMenamins before and after this evening no one will be able to drag me back to one of these disgusting bars. Todays hamburger was dripping in grease onto the limp luke warm fries. I know a good hamburger needs some fat, but this was absurd. Then a trip to the restroom - ah, equal to the food. The beer has always been mediocre, so no change there.
A long-time favorite in northwest. Like all McMenamins, go for the atmosphere, the decor, and in this case, the pool tables and the fireplace. Don't go for the food, drink, or service.
Wow all of these people are complaining about bad service, and two weeks ago when we were there on a Saturday night we left our server a HUGE tip b/c we experienced the exact opposite! Our server was outstanding! He was prompt, courteous and obliged all of our requests. We caught a movie later in their upstairs theater and had great service up there too. My boyfriend and I thought a romantic getaway would be fun at Edgefield. Not only not but completely ruined. We had to leave the hotel at 1:30am because our hallway was so loud with inconsiderate drunks. Falling up the stairs, down the stairs, calling to one another from down the hall, laughing and generally having a big party.. Which is fine if they were in a college frat house! Worst Service EVER! – McMenamins already has a reputation for horrible service but the Grand Lodge takes this to a whole new level. It's amazing how a company can operate, seemingly profitably, but provide the absolute worst service of any place around. Why don't people support all of the excellent brew pubs in and around the Portland area and stop letting mcMenamins get away with such terrible service/food.
