I called before coming to the ER to see if they were very busy (to avoid flu exposure and to not overwhelm the staff and the lady was short with me and said “it just depends”. I decided to come in because i was having multiple emergencies that has caused me different hospital stays in the past. I have had open heart surgery and came in bc i had a massive jaw/teeth infection. Gums and heart tissue are similar, and without iv antibiotics i can go septic and get a heart infection very quickly. My boyfriend went to the ER last night to follow up after his infected spider bite seemed to have gotten worse after being discharged from St Alexis the previous night. As someone who also works in healthcare and is familiar with the ER setting , I was very disappointed to hear that the providers here don’t seem to really care about the severity of their patients condition but more possibly concerned with their race. Overall experience it’s just super poor my girlfriend was in the er suffering subchronic hemorrhage in the placenta she came in with horrible stomach pains. the doctors took so long to do anything the pain went away she was in pain for 3 hours she had asked if she could get medicine to help her with the discomfort 5 hours went by and not a single doctor or nurse offered to help her pain we basically sat for 3 whole hours without any doctors or nurses checking on her then after that 3 hours they came in with discharge papers.... read more

Went into the er this morning and all I can say is good things from the time I got threw the door till I went home. So to the er entire er staff thank you.
