I WISH that I could rate their customer service, but I have yet to receive ANY!!! I wish they would have called me back in just 12 days! Beginning in May, I have been messaging them via the website Zumper....no response. I have called several times and left several voice mails, and now recently the recording says that it isn't currently set up to accept messages....WHAT??!!!! Still, no returned calls. I am an attorney. My disabled client submitted an application to McKay Manor in early July 2025. He and I have called and emailed McKay Manor repeatedly since that time, and as of early September 2025—approximately 60 days later—neither of us has received a return call, a response to our emails, or any contact whatsoever from McKay Manor. When I called for availability, I was told that they are “saving some units under a contract and only certain units would be available for the public.” I would like to see the contract or understand why units are being withheld from the public. Who are they saving them for? Illinois has gotten so sketchy since I moved 15 years ago, I think Ill stay in MO. They like my money here.
This place has been a joke from the start. They advertised affordable housing, then kept upping rent- even before people moved in. Then once in they raised it again and again. Especially to disabled people! The finishes in the apartments look ok from a distance, but it's shoddy at best. My friend lived there and just passed from cancer. Her young 20s daughter is a student and lived with her. They had made sure she could afford the place on her own, but mckay didnt even give her the opportunity.
