This department is the biggest waste of money in McHenry they don’t fix the roads correctly. Some of the plow drivers can’t understand what plowing the whole road is our neighborhood ends up is a one-way street on heavy snow storms and don’t melt out until spring because it turns to an iceberg, but they can spend the money in time on watering plants and putting Christmas lights out. I’m sure this is cost-effective and why we can’t feel potholes. We don’t have the funding to fill the potholes.
Not sure who the driver of plow truck number 423 is but they think it's okay to run stop signs when did public works become immune to the law? You would think due to the fact that he's even out in the plow truck the roads must be pretty slick so it's definitely not a good idea to just run stop signs.
They do a really bad job at plowing. IDK what happened to the large plow trucks that used to do the subdivision. They plow the center and don't get close to the curb.
While sitting in my living room, a plow went by my driveway and plowed me in with the ice boulders left over from the recent snow. I placed a call to public works and told them what happened, and that I can no longer shovel my driveway and being handicapped, I needed to have access to my driveway for any emergency. They sent out a truck with two people and within a couple minutes they cleared my driveway apron. They were both very nice. I very much appreciate that you all took care of my driveway apron so promptly.
