Friendly and courteous staff. Was able to address my concern and lead me on a path to recovery from hair loss in my beard area in 2 places. Edit: This is now my wife's go to Dermatologist resulting from my successful appointments.

I am now scarred from Dr mcguiness not stitching up my biopsy after he cut it out. as you can see google states a biopsy shoukd be stitched up. not sure why he did not. he has been a dermatologist for so many years. and i'm not sure why he picked a place that everyone would see when i wear a swim suit. the biopsy Dr mcguiness cut from me is showing a raised scar that won't go away. i wish he would have stitched the open biopsy so it would not have scared. I drove all the way from Irving from a work engagement to Murphy to be told I could only be seen if I self paid because of an issue with my insurance. I told them I didn’t want to self pay and that I would schedule an appointment at their other location. I walked to my car and called my insurance to see if in fact there was an issue and there was not. I walked back in to let them talk to my insurance only to be told my insurance isn’t in network. They said they knew about this yesterday but failed to communicate that with me... read more

Unfortunately, I must edit my review that I left two years ago. My favorable opinion of the practice was accurate at that time, however, my experience at McGuinness Dermatology in Murphy since then rate only a one-star review. While my opinion of Dr. Hodges remains positive, my opinion of the office staff, from the front desk to the nurses, is extremely poor. The staff and nurses may or may not return your call after leaving repeated messages, and likely will not send faxes or follow up on necessary paperwork required by you... read more
