I can't recommend going to a student clinic for obvious reasons. I had a simple cleaning but the experience was to be expected, an inexperienced student, perhaps it was bad luck since everyone is different but she was not only bad but had an attitude to match. In her mind she's a seasoned dentist, the arrogance and obvious to any discomfort the patient might be feeling even though I'd given her clear indications. The more painful it got the deeper she dug. Everyone here is Amazing Loved my Dentist and Hygienist The receptionist was always helpful they all do a wonderful job Always accommodating and get the job done right the first time! Not a money grab like lots of bad practices I’ve seen in my life time. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.
Based on how much plaque or staining you have on your teeth (I brush and floss nightly, have had 1 cavity my whole life), they will charge you for extra units of scaling for normal preventative cleanings arbitrarily, not let you know, and then for future preventative cleanings your insurance won't cover you for scaling after the fact for hundreds of dollars that you now need to pay out of pocket. Just another McGill grift.
McGill student and staff dentistry is for the students to practice on people. It's very strictly run and supervised dental work by actual dentists themselves and the students practice on you. It may take two or three or four times longer as their practicing plus each step they take, they often call over a dentist to consult with both their dental observations and examination and their dental work.
