Going through a divorce is the most brutal thing that I have ever experienced. During times that have been incredibly hard and where I have felt extremely low... This can be a scary and confusing process but the professionals at McGill took the fear out of the equation and made our mediation simple, painless, and logical. We were made to understand every step of the way. All decisions were in our hands and they guided us to the best path for our mutual benefit. He unfortunately had to switch attorneys, due to his past attorney retiring so he landed here, which he very much regrets. This was a low conflict and pretty straight forward divorce. The legal mediation advice was fine. The problem was with their fees and unfair charges. We were quoted 7k and were told it could be done as little as 5k if we had all our ducks in a row. I felt we did that as we were prepared with our documentation and even went under are allotted lawyer time in both of our meetings by 2.5 hours ($1125 savings in lawyer time or should have been). My experience at McGill was exceptional. Taylor Matthias was my attorney and helped me with a difficult situation with a family member. She was really fantastic throughout the 18 months it lasted. I always felt supported, heard, and never judged. She really clarified the issues for me, helped me to see alternatives and, just, generally, was an ally when I really needed one. I hope not to need her help in the future but I would not hesitate to seek her advice or another attorney's at McGill Law. Thank you!
