We began work with McDowell Remodeling in late 2019 before they were purchased by Slaten. We started with remodeling a bathroom and some flooring, with thoughts of doing a full house remodel on a 1930s home. While our initial experience with McDowell was wonderful, things turned south very quickly when Slaten took over. disappointed. 30+ years this was a family owned business that specialized in top quality construction and remodeling complimented by personal service and attention to detail. They were huge supporters of all of the local organizations and active in many of the St. Charles festivals. Unfortunately, they could not do it forever and the bussiness was sold to another remodeling company that basically stripped it like an old car heading to the junkyard and drove out surplus employees that made this place great. Wow! Sue really cares about the community - so she definitely cares about their services. Call them. Or, better yet, visit them. They have some beautiful samples and super staff.
Master Bedroom Bathroom Remodel Takes 4 months. Overall their workman ship is good and they are nice people. Every project has speedbumps and unknown's - that is understood. What makes the difference between an average company and a good or great company is how these speedbumps are overcome. We have had our bedroom a construction zone for four month's. Dust and people coming to our our house whenever they could to complete tasks. We paid alot for project management on this project and feel we did not get our money's worth.
