Throughout the building process it was just issue after issue, they stuffed up the plans and argued with me for a month about it. Now we have moved in they have not fixed a number of things they should have and, in less than a year one of our shower screens just randomly exploded. After a few weeks they are now claiming they are only fixing it out of good will, as they shouldn't really have to fix glass that just randomly explodes.

Terrible business and there to rip you off. As a first home buyer I wouldn't consider them. They encourage first time builds by giving cash incentives although the mark up when using the so called incentive isn't feasible taking advantage and ripping off customers. We already had a bad feeling after our first selection meeting but already payed our $5000 deposit so proceeded until we received an internal email from staff plotting how they were to get more money from us. McDonald Jones Homes may be good but the Oakflats Office is embroiled with unethical practices and uses underhanded tactics to try and make you pay more than is required and fair. For example, we got a conditional DA approval and one of the conditions it to put in a skylight. Their quote (MJH) gave us was between $4,000 and $5,000 which is 60% more than what we found out in the marketplace.
