I appreciated Pat's focus on what is best for the children. She was able to diplomatically bring us both around to considering what was best for the children, as opposed to what was 'fair' or 'equal' to the parents. She did not take sides and reserved judgement about the 'stories' spouses bring in to the process until she was able to learn more about these stories than she could from talking with either parent alone. She is a wise and kind lady.

Pat was extremely helpful. I seen her and other family members off and on for years when we are in need of some assistance. She listens well is supportive but also good at helping us focus on what we need to try and address for things to be better. Everyone in my family who has seen her has found her to be quite helpful. She has always been extremely professional while also being compassionate. I have referred a few friends to her as well, and to my knowledge they all have been satisfied. Read the reviews from 2017. They reflect how my experience was. There was another review from 2017 that was recently removed. I would recommend any adult or child avoid Pat at all cost.

I you want an 85 year old therapist who doesn't take notes and can't remember what she recommended at your last appointment, McDermott is perfect for you.

She is very biased when it comes to helping children stay within a healthy family dinamic. She lied to make my dad out to be a bad person, and helped to put my half siblings in the hands of their abusive mother and taken away from my dad. I was a child at the time and told her how horrible she was, but it was ignored. I now haven't seen my siblings in many many years and am always concerned about their wellbeing.

Pat was my counselor years ago. She was empathic, funny, transparent, and very skilled. She helped me through a very difficult time.
