We ran 2-week writers retreats here in May 2023 and again in May 2025. McArthur Manor has only gotten better week after week, stay after stay. I wish I could give this place an extra star for how at home they have made us feel both times we've stayed here. Managers Nicholas & Cynthia were thorough, transparent, and communicative in the planning process (ask about setting up a Pub Quiz hosted by Cynthia!). Wonderful manor, stayed for a week as part of a wedding. Absolutely above and beyond service and hospitality. The surrounding area is close enough to walk, no car needed except for excursions to the beautiful countryside. If you are looking for a venue, you have found your spot. Do not hesitate to come to McArthur manor we had an incredibly lovely time!

I stayed at McArthur Manor for a writers retreat and it is truly a gem! The manor is both charming and comfortable, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. As someone with celiac disease, I was especially impressed by how thoughtfully they accommodated my gluten-free needs, I never felt like I was missing out on any of the dishes. It was everything you’d hope for in a magical stay in Scotland.

We recently celebrated my mums 60th birthday at the manor and can truly say an excellent time was had by all. Cannot thank Nicholas and the team enough- they went above and beyond to ensure the party ran smoothly and that every guest was catered for. Nothing was too much hassle. The venue itself is charming and has a cosy atmosphere. The catering was second to none and received many compliments from our party guests. I spent a week at McArthur Manor for a friend’s wedding and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely made us feel at home. The food was excellent throughout the stay, and we discovered an amazing little restaurant just a short walk away in the village. The entire place is incredibly peaceful, perfect for unwinding. It was so quiet at night, I slept like a baby every single night. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway or a special occasion.
