Dr Chen destroyed my sense of smell 14 years ago with an unnecessary sinus surgery. I agree with others about his fearmongering. He seemed worried my infection would end up in my brain and made it sound like I was in dire straits. He scrapped everything out with apparently no regard for quality of life. Oh yes, and he didn't tell me about the black box warning on levaquin! I had to tell him about my sore Achilles because I bothered to look up the drug. That's blatantly illegal. Addressed my issues very well. Very caring and empathetic. His communication style might come off as different, but he definitely means well. Had a really good surgery + post surgery experience after trying all non surgical options over an year.
Pretty poor experience. Dr was extremely condescending, during our discussion regarding a tonsillectomy he wouldn’t allow me to ask questions until he was completely done talking. Seemed like he was trying to scare me out of doing the surgery. Wouldn’t recommend.
Dr Chen patiently earned my confidence and performed my involved nasal surgery a couple of years ago. I needed several follow up visits since then. I couldn’t be more pleased with the results thanks to his skill and commitment to my care.
Thorough, caring, empathetic, and very knowledgeable. Dr Chen took his time with me and went over my CT in detail in a way I was able to understand. It's clear to me that he really cares about me being able to breathe, and was very thorough in ordering tests and labs for me, and conferring with other specialists. He gave me a much clearer path forward towards being able to breathe properly, and he gave me answers that I had searched for over 20 years for. Endocsopy was also not a big deal.
